In review of the Texas Education Agency-Texas Safety
Standards, January 2002, it is our opinion that the ISIMET Utility
Controller complies fully with standards established for master and
emergency shut-off as stated in the Texas Safety Standards on page
35; and in the Science Facilities Standards, Chapter 2;Safety
Equipment on page 68.
Texas Safety Standards:
All utilities should have emergency and master
utility shut-off controls for each science classroom. The controls
should be easily accessible to the teacher, preferable near the
teacher’s station, but not too easily accessible to the students.
Laboratory utility shut-off controls should be clearly labeled with
the type of utility and room number to which the controlled is
connected.
